Welcome to the insane world of Irken luff!
You may be wondering what the heck is going on. Like, why are the Irkens suddenly interested in taking over the planet, Earth? What happened to Zim, and where did all the other canons go?
Well, luckily you’ve just stumbled across the plot of our wonderful little RPG, and here, everything will be explained.
So, let’s start at the beginning then, shall we?
As you are probably aware, the universe's greatest threat, the Irken Empire, is slowly taking over the known planets through, as it seems, sheer dumb luck. An Irken Invader (ex-Invader, actually), ZIM, who single-handedly destroyed an entire military operation in his past, has returned to his leaders, begging them for another chance to give himself a good name. They do- sort of. Actually, they just send him on a joke mission to get him out of the way. They pretend to see his worth, give him a junk robot, and send him off, hoping that he'll die on the way.
To their surprise, however, he lives, and actually finds a planet to devastate, which is-what a surprise - Earth. However, he has landed in the wrong place. A paranormal investigator, Dib, has seen through his disguise, and is hot on his trail. It sounds like an average alien story, but it isn't. Did we mention that Dib is ten years old, and considered stupid or crazy (though clearly not) by many of his peers? And that ZIM isn't the best invader in the world? Or that neither of them are very good at stopping each other?
Well, that’s all old news. It seemed that there was a slight miscalculation in their antics. Her name… was Tak. Yes, actually a good, female invader who came to Earth to get back at Zim. At first, she failed, of course, and was sent into outer space. But, before she went, she vowed that she’d have her revenge and would convince the mighty tallests that Earth was a planet worth invading.
It took a few years, but Tak eventually made her way back to the Irken Empire and told them the whole story. The tallest, having pity on Tak, as they liked her, were finally convinced that Earth was worth invading. So, eventually, they recalled ZIM and sent him back to the planet, Foodcourtia to serve out the rest of his days flipping weenies and serving poop to the many alien races of the universe.
The Irken armada assembled and, with Tak as their leader, prepared to take the planet over. But, there were a few things that they didn’t count on. Number one being that the people of Earth were a lot more resourceful than the tallests had realized. By the time they had put their plan into motion, the technology of Earth had advanced so much that it evenly matched that of the Irkens.
Thus, a cold war ensued, and it is still going on to this day. Earth and Irk are at a stand off. If one side even gives a little, they shall be destroyed.
And that brings us up to the present date. Forty years has passed, and everyone from the show is now gone (except for Ms. Bitters, who still insists to teach at Skool). The normal people of Earth still have no knowledge of the aliens, and the only ones who know the truth are those involved in the fight for survival.
The question is: Which side will you join?
